A washing machine at spin speed (800-1400 RPM) generates significant centrifugal force when the drum has unbalanced wet clothes inside. If the machine isn’t level, that force pushes the machine around the floor — “walking.”
Causes: - Shipping bolts still installed (new machine). - Legs unlevel (one or more adjusted wrong). - Floor uneven (sloped laundry room). - Pedestal loose (if on a pedestal). - Worn-out legs (old machine, legs loosened over years). - Actual internal damage (bearing or suspension — rare).
