Main floor bedrooms had decades of paint built up on the windows and trim — half of them wouldn't open. I masked everything off, repainted the walls, freed up the sashes, and restored the original stained trim where it was worth saving. The worst windows got swapped for new double-hungs. Same paint pass cleaned up the kitchen ceiling and the basement stair while I was at it.
