The original 100-amp service was tired and the meter base was rotted into the siding. I had the utility pull the drop while I swapped in a new 200-amp panel with a Generac surge protector, ran fresh circuits for the kitchen and exterior, and replaced the old switches and outlets with new Leviton devices. Outside, a motion-sensor lantern by the door so I'm not fumbling for keys at night.
-
Before Old electric meter and the network interface on weathered siding. Cobwebs, peeling paint, and the bottom of the meter base rotted out.
-
Before Service entrance from outside before the swap — old conduit, old meter, vinyl siding chewed up around it.
-
During Old junction box dangling from a ceiling hole during demo. Most of the original wiring went in the dumpster.
-
After New 200-amp panel with the Generac surge protector tied in. Labeled, tidy, room to grow.
-
Up close on the 200-amp main. From a single-pole tangle to a panel I can actually read.
-
After New Leviton rocker switch on a freshly painted wall. Small thing, but every old toggle in the house got swapped.
-
After Combo light switch and GFCI in. The old one's still on the counter — anyone who's done a kitchen knows the look.
-
After Kitchen coffee corner buttoned up — granite, white cabinets, new outlets and switches running everything.
-
After Black craftsman lantern by the door with a motion sensor. No more fumbling for keys when I'm carrying groceries up the steps.
