Final Grade, Walkway, and Curb Appeal

Last pass on the outside: regraded the dirt around the front of the house, set a stone-lined path from the new driveway up to the door, and put in a solar lamp post so you can find your way up at night. Painted siding, new roof, new gutters, paved drive — same cottage, but it actually looks looked-after for the first time in years.

After Wood-sided cottage on the stone retaining wall after the exterior work was done. Same house, holding itself differently.
-
Before Pink survey flag on the wooded slope — staking out where the path and landscaping would go.
-
Before Survey marker in the leaves marking the property line. Wanted everything new to sit comfortably inside the lines.
-
Before Utility flag and fresh stumps near the roadside planter. Marking what's underground before any new planting goes in.
-
Survey stake with the caution tape near the road. Anything we put in respects this line.

During Solar lamp post lighting the new stone path at dusk. Whole different feel walking up to the house at night.
-
After Stone-lined path and steps up the slope to the cottage. From bare dirt to something you'd want to walk on.
-
After Dormer, gray siding, white trim and new shingles against blue sky. The detail I'd been working toward.
-
After Whole front of the house at dusk: dormer, fresh roof, gable trim. Took a long time to take a photo this clean.
