Once framing passed I went green-board everywhere — moisture-resistant drywall on every interior surface because it's a lake cottage and humidity is constant. Home Depot dropped a pallet on the driveway with a Moffett, and I cut and hung it room by room, working off a sawhorse table in the kitchen. Painted, trimmed, and got the closet rebuilt with a real six-panel door.
-
During Home Depot flatbed dropped the pallet at the lake side. Piggyback forklift earned its keep that day.
-
During Moffett walking the wrapped load up to the garage. Saved me a day of carrying.
-
Before Pallet of green-board on the driveway, ready to come inside.
-
During Sheets staged in the entryway. Mold-resistant on every wall — it's a lake cottage, not a desert.
-
During Drywall sheet across the kitchen table as a cut surface. You work with the space you have.
-
During Sawhorse table and shop vac set up in the kitchen. Cutting one room, hanging the next.
-
During Stripped wall ready to close in. Small drywall hole at the floor for a low-voltage pull later.
-
During Mid-project look at the open floor plan. Fridge in place, framing still showing on one wall.
-
During First sheets up around the new rough door opening.
-
During Kitchen wall hung. Miter saw set up behind me for the trim run.
-
During New wall between kitchen and the next room sheeted in green-board.
-
During Doorway framed and sheeted, just waiting on the casing.
-
During Pocket doors in, drywall around them. The wall reads like one piece now instead of two rooms hacked together.
-
During Wide opening to the next room sheeted up. Headers and corners all caught with screws on 12-inch centers.
-
During Spare sheets staged for the bathroom and basement runs that came after.
-
During Last big doorway sheeted in. Closing this kind of opening up is the satisfying part.
-
During New partition done. After this it was tape, mud, and three coats of paint.
-
After Gray accent wall painted between kitchen and hallway with the new baseboards on.
-
After Same wall from a different angle. Color reads warmer in afternoon light off the lake.
-
After Almost done — fresh paint, new floor down, ladder and dolly still parked for the punch list.
-
After Hallway closet with a new white six-panel door and casing. Replaces what used to be a cased opening with a curtain rod.
-
During Fresh paint on, new floors going in, Rockwool staged for the next wall. Layer-by-layer progress.
-
During Built-in shelves going in around the corner of the new opening.
-
During Hallway closet stripped of doors with the kitchen visible through the new opening.
-
During Closet rebuilt with new shelving. Table saw still on the floor while I dialed in the last piece.
-
During Door jamb stripped down so I could replace the rotted side and rehang the slab plumb.
